Sports program at the Mouratoglou Academy
Patrick Mouratoglou's methodology
The Mouratoglou methodology is at the heart of the tennis programme. Developed by Patrick Mouratoglou, this approach has trained many champions, including stars of the ATP and WTA circuits. Based on a combination of technical rigour, mental agility and adaptability, this method teaches young athletes to play with confidence and consistency.
The academy’s coaches follow this methodology and work with each student to perfect the fundamentals: from the forehand to the backhand, via the serve and footwork, no technical aspect is overlooked. In addition, the coaches focus on match strategy and tactical understanding of the game, which is essential if you are to approach each match situation with greater anticipation.
Personalised, intensive training
The Tennis-Études sports programme at the Mouratoglou Academy is designed to provide an intensive training environment for young players aspiring to reach their full potential on the circuit.
Focused exclusively on sporting progression, the programme provides world-class facilities, high-quality coaching and an internationally recognised methodology to develop the technical, physical and mental skills needed to succeed in the world of tennis.
Physical training and athletic preparation
Success in tennis depends on a complete physical commitment that goes beyond technique. The Tennis and school program incorporates advanced athletic preparation to develop players’ endurance, power and agility. Each athlete follows a personalised fitness plan, focusing on :
Muscle strengthening: Specific exercises for the legs, trunk and arms, to gain power and stability.
Mobility and flexibility: Routines to improve flexibility and fluidity of movement, minimising the risk of injury.
Endurance work: Aerobic and anaerobic exercises to maintain a high level of performance throughout the match.
Explosiveness: Sprint and plyometric sessions to improve responsiveness and acceleration on the court.
Mental training and pressure management
In a sport as demanding as tennis, mental preparation plays a crucial role. The programme includes mental preparation sessions to help athletes deal with stress, stay focused under pressure and develop a competitive attitude.
Individual mental coaching sessions are also offered to work on the player’s personal life and the problems they encounter. These sessions help build self-confidence, motivation and the ability to bounce back from setbacks.
Competitions and tournaments: practice and experience
Taking part in competitions is an essential part of the Tennis-Études programme at the Mouratoglou Academy. Students have the opportunity to take part in regional, national and international tournaments, giving themvaluable competitiveexperience. Depending on the level and objectives of each player, a calendar of tournaments is drawn up to ensure continued progress in a competitive environment.
Tournaments allow athletes to put into practice the skills acquired during coaching sessions, test their mental stamina and come up against a variety of opponents. Thanks to this regular competitive rhythm, young tennis players acquire ranking points, maturity and a stronger sense of strategy.
Monitoring and development
Each player is monitored regularly to assess his or her progress and adjust the areas of focus. Coaches and physical trainers organise regular assessment sessions to analyse performance, identify strengths and weaknesses, and adjust training programmes. This ongoing monitoring ensures constant development and appropriate support at key stages of progress.
The dialogue between coaches, fitness trainers and students ensures comprehensive and coherent care. Regular reviews with parents also enable progress to be monitored and future objectives to be discussed.
Infrastructure and training conditions
The Mouratoglou Academy boasts top-of-the-range facilities offering an exceptional training environment. With hard and clay courts (both indoor and outdoor), players have access to optimal conditions for training on a variety of surfaces. The Academy also provides high-tech equipment, including video analysis to assess and correct every movement.
