CAREER & ACHIEVEMENTS

Thijs Boogaard is a very precocious player, who won his first ATP point at just 14 years of age in his first professional match on the Futures circuit, at the $15,000 Alkmaar (Netherlands) in 2023. He beat compatriot Stian Klaassen. In 2024, he played in the qualifiers for the ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam, where he lost to France’s Hugo Gaston (6-3, 6-3).

The Dutchman also won six consecutive junior titles between 2022 and 2023 and became the youngest player to win an ITF Junior J300 title at just 14 years of age. The youngest player to win a title at this level was Bernard Tomic (at 14 years and 10 months) in 2007. In 2024, Thijs Boogaard won three titles, two J100 in Stavanger and one J200 in Villinger-schwenningen, all three without losing a set. He reached his highest junior ranking in January 2024, when he was ranked 23rd in the world.

GIFTED & PASSIONATE

In a video produced by Wilson, Thijs Boogaard explained why he loves playing tennis. “It’s an incredible feeling. The sound of a perfectly struck ball on a court, there’s nothing better I think. It’s addictive. The Dutch player also explains what he believes is the key to success in tennis. “The mind plays a huge part. If you don’t believe in your chances, you won’t win. If, on the other hand, you believe in them, then you’ve already taken a big step towards victory.
